SITE LOCATION - Sker Beach, Limeslade Bay, langland Bay, Oxwich Bay, Stackpole Quay
WEATHER - Variable over the next few days, dry periods through the week with rain showers in between especially tonight, wind is also a mixed bag with strong winds tonight and then easing and picking up towards the end on the week. WATER TEMPERATURE - 10 Degrees
WIND - Varied throughout the week, strong South Westerlies tonight, easing and then picking up again into the week. Really need to look closely at the weather charts (https://magicseaweed.com/Southerndown-Surf-Report/4321/)
SEA STATE AND SWELL - Messy week in the sea, varied winds accorss the South Wales area and 2 - 6 foot swells with localised winds will result in choppy waters for the next few days. (https://magicseaweed.com/Southerndown-Surf-Report/4321/)
SWELL - The surf and swell is again varied through the week, generally we have a 3-5 foot swell but with varied winds which could mess up the conditions. Generally consistent swell but winds making conditions hard to predict, may be better to head to the sheltered beaches

The wind has increased and so has the swell so scuba diving in the areas around Newport, Cardiff, Porthcawl and Swansea and definately not good for access or egress or visability. Again this would be better found on the inland sites further East.
We are in full progress running the PADI Open Water Diver programme at the moment with students from Cardiff University heading out for the placements in the summer. The students will be part of an on going research project on the Medes Islands Nature reserve in L'Estartit Spain.
