Scuba Diving Wales, South Wales, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Carmarthenshire 15th October 2020 - The winds are offshore in most areas facing South and West and the swell in smaller for the next few days. These conditions should aid for better Scuba Diving conditions across the South Wales and West Wales areas. Most areas should have good exit and entrance conditions however the visibility will be very limited. The better conditions would be in West Wales as always in Martins Haven, St Brides Bay, Abereiddy and other protected areas on the West Wales coastline. The government lockdown policies are now changing daily and there are new restrictions on several sites, please follow the government legislation and restrictions for the day.

We are elated to get our students back in the water scuba diving and are planning to run our full diving programme from the pool session on 20th March 2021 onwards. There are high winds and big swells throughout the region affecting the diving across the area. There will be unsafe water entry and exit conditions due to the wind and swell and poor visibility, definitely worth sitting out for the next few days and waiting for the wind and swell to drop and the conditions to clear. Areas in the Cardiff, Swansea, Carmarthen. Newport, West Wales are all unsuitable due to the winds varying directions and strengths for the next few days.. Sheltered areas will be better conditions but winds will predict the better areas as well as the tides. With big swells and stormy seas especially inshore through out the local area conditions are not looking the best. The better areas will definately be inland at protected lakes, quarry sites etc. Overall bad conditions especially on the days with high winds and big swells, very poor visibility across all regions in South wales.
