Scuba Diving Wales, South Wales, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, West Wales 07th June 2021- Scuba diving conditions are looking quite good across South Wales at the moment close to Cardiff, Swansea, Camarthen and West Wales. The wind and conditions have been suitable for scuba diving over the past few days, the only issue would be the swell which would affect the visibility in certain areas. The better areas to dive will be in West Wales such as Martins Haven, St Brides Bay, Abercastle and towards St Davids. Tide times are early morning so need to get in the water early or later on the evening. The government lock down policies are now changing daily and there are new restrictions on several sites, please follow the government legislation and restrictions for the day.

Scuba Diving Wales, South Wales, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, West Wales 04th May 2021- Scuba diving conditions are not good for the next few days with strong winds and larger swells. The stormier choppier seas will affect not only the safety of the dives but also the visibility. Coastal areas will be affected adversely especially in and around the Cardiff and Swansea areas. Inland sites are now starting to open and would be a better option over the next few days. The government lock down policies are now changing daily and there are new restrictions on several sites, please follow the government legislation and restrictions for the day.

Firstly we apologise for the late review, we have been away in L'Estartit in Spain on a Scuba Diving Research project, the Diving was amazing on the Medes Island Natural Park and we are presently running a team of research divers from Cardiff University studying and researching the marine and terrestrial environment in the Natural Park. The conditions out in Spain have been amazing with great visability, wonderfull marine life and stunning scenery.

Conditions in the local area have been varied especially with the good weather but high winds and big swell. In the area the swell and tide have a huge effect on the conditions and this week will really show this. The weather is amazing getting up to to 35 degrees in some parts, but there is also a big swell out on the channel which will affect all coastal areas especially in Cardiff and Swansea.

The best diving areas will be the most protected from the wind and the swell, these areas as always will be along the pembrokeshire coast especially Martins Haven and St Brides Bay. The Algae ploombs should be clearing and the visability should become alot clearer with the bays being protected from the swells, the water temperature is also looking alot better around the 14 degree mark.

So head for west wales for your diving but head along the south coast area for a surf and a sun bath.

We are teaching the PADI Open Water Diver Course in Hebron Hall in Dinas Powys in Cardiff this week, with people from all over the area, Swansea, Merthyr, Bridgend, Newport, even Tewkesbury. The course will take the full day and give the students the qualification to be able to dive anywhere in the world up to 18 meters.
