Scuba Schools International (SSI) have been providing scuba diving certification for over 50 years. SSI is currently represented in over 2,800 international locations and is recognised throughout the world. It is also one of a few scuba diving training agencies who have qualified for a Global ISO Certification.
Almost anybody can learn to scuba dive, so long as you are in good health and reasonably fit. Participants as young as 10 years old can complete the SSI Open Water Diver and SSI Advanced Adventurer programmes. You can then continue to improve your skills and experience through a range of SSI Speciality certifications.
The SSI speciality certifications are designed to help you improve your skills in specific areas, making you a better diver and better buddy. As you achieve more of these speciality SSI certifications you also move through the SSI recognition levels; Open Water Diver, Speciality Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and Master Diver.
SSI also offer professional certifications, allowing you to do what you love as a career, with the SSI Dive Guide, SSI Divemaster and Instructor certifications.

The SSI Journey
SSI offers a full learning journey, taking you from a complete beginner diver to an experienced diver who can teach others to enjoy what you love, scuba diving.
SSI offers both certifications and recognition levels, which is where it differs slightly from other training providers.
Certifications are achieved through completing the required course with an approved training centre, like Ocean Quest. So long as you have met the requirements, anybody can complete the course and become certified.
Recognition levels are achieved through experience on top of certifications. There is no way to shortcut the recognition levels, and you achieve them through logging dives and improving your skills and knowledge.
