With around 71% of the worlds surface underwater it’s easy to see why so many people are learning to dive to discover more of the worlds hidden treasures and to experience the wonders of our oceans, and it’s easier and simpler than you may thing to become a certified diver!

The PADI Open Water Course is the first course in becoming a qualified Scuba Diver and can be completed by anyone over the age of 10yrs old. Our courses are hugely popular with families, it’s a great way to learn and experience new skills and environments together and it opens so many more opportunities for each member throughout their lifetime, this course has three elements to it:

1. Theoretical – individuals partaking in the course are required to read through the theoretical manual in their own time, completing knowledge reviews, quizzes and a theoretical examination. Ocean Quest provide theoretical classroom sessions to clarify the information further, allowing individuals to ask questions, and ensure that individuals have clearly understood and retained the information. If further assistance is required one to one lessons are available to assist the student in fully grasping the information.

2. Confined Water – practical pool element. This is the fun part individuals will attend pool sessions within which time they will learn, and competently master all the skills required to become a confident and happy open water diver.

3. Open Water Dives – to complete the course students are required to participate and successfully complete four open water dives. These dives can be completed at any PADI centre of your choosing worldwide, including here with us in Britain. On successful completion of the course individuals are certified as Open Water Divers with the certification lasting a lifetime!!

This Course has been designed with flexibility in mind. Families and individual can opt to complete section 1&2 with us at either our Cardiff Scuba Diving facility or our Swansea Scuba Diving training facilities, completing the theoretical and pool element at their own pace and time in an facility local to home, with our experienced and friendly team. With such a vast qualified team we are able to offer high quality instruction including additional support and 1:1 instruction for individuals requiring further assistance to understand information or to master a skill. As previously stated completion  of the course can be conducted in this country or overseas, many families choose to complete the open waters abroad in warmer waters and an increasing amount of families are discovering the treasures and holiday opportunities that Sharm el Sheikh holds both on-land and in the sea
